Sao Mai solar power plant is spread over an area of 275ha at the foot of Cam Mountain (Thien Forbidden Son - Tinh Bien district, An Giang province) with an investment capital of more than VND 6,000 billion with a capacity of supplying 210MWp of electricity.
December 2, 2020, has become a significant event for Sao Mai Solar Power Plant. It not only marked the success of the race of time but also marked the completion of the solar power plant spread over an area of 275ha at the foot of Cam Mountain (Tinh Bien district - An Giang province).
The solar power plant has a capacity of 210 MWp with an investment of more than VND 6,000 billion.
It is home to over 2,400 hours of sunshine per year.
From 2021 onwards, An Giang contributes nearly 400 million kWh of clean electricity to the national grid every year.
Not only bringing clean electricity, with adequate compensation and good care policies for workers, but the solar power plant has also brightened up the rocky countryside at the foot of Cam Mountain.
Mr. Chau Sóc Chon (Khmer ethnicity) An Thanh hamlet, An Hao commune (Tinh Bien) security guard, shared: "In the past, I worked all kinds of jobs to earn money to take care of my family but the job was not stable so life was quite difficult. Therefore, my whole family of 5 demographics only counts on the income from my wife's market purchases".
"When I was compensated by the Group for 300 million VND per land, I used this money to buy more than 10 low farmlands, producing 3 crops per year. And I also get priority to receive and work as a security guard" - he said. With a stable salary of more than 6 million VND/month, everyday is also supported with lunch worth 25000 VND, so the family begins to have food to eat.
Similarly, Mr. Chau Soc Kan (Khmer ethnicity) Chau Lang commune, Tri Ton district (An Giang) also found great joy: "Graduating in the electrical system, but after working in some units, I still struggle with an income of only 4-5 million VND/month. But when I was recruited to the Solar Power Plant, my family's life changed positively with twice the income compared to before".
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - The factory manager said: "Not only taking care of employee's life, the Group priorities recruiting on-site workers, especially Khmer compatriots to contribute to stabilizing people's lives in the project area".
"Every year, the Factory also creates jobs for 3 months for around 300 on-site workers through cleaning panels". - Mr. Tung said.
Talking to reporters of Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Truong Vinh Thanh - Deputy General Director of Sao Mai Group Joint Stock Company said: "As soon as the plant is connected to the national electricity, the Group also put solar power tourism into operation, which not only brings added value after selling electricity, Solar Power Tourism service also gives visitors a new tourist address".
Mr. Thanh added, first of all, it is the satisfaction of exploring the vast and fancy "Solar Panel Field". On the other hand, with the position of leaning back against the cliff of Cam Mountain, the roof of the Mekong Delta, the whole factory is located in a semi-mountainous position, which will give visitors the feeling of shaking off the daily noise to immerse themselves in the fresh air, interesting scenery ...
Phase 2 of Sao Mai solar power plant with a total capacity of 106MWp was officially connected to the national grid and put into commercial operation on 02\/12\/2020 with the contribution of more than 1500 engineers, workers, consultants, and supervisors of the General Contractor Consortium: SUMEC (China) and EPCSOLARVN. In particular, SUMEC provides materials and equipment, EPCSOLAR performs construction, installation, testing and implementation of electrical closure and commercial operation of COD.
